Mission Statement
Our mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. We believe that every kid has the right to hear about Jesus Christ, regardless of economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
All Youth Welcome!
All kids in grades 6-12 are welcome. It doesn’t matter if you attend church or not. Young Life wants to walk alongside you in your everyday life.

I grew up in Midland, MI and had a fairly “typical” childhood. I went to church, youth group, but my main focus was hockey. Once I started drifting away from my relationship with Jesus my Freshman year of High School, Young Life came into play. I was exposed to leaders who actually cared about my life and what I was doing. They were amazing mentors in my life, and most of all, they were my friends. They taught me what it means to believe in Jesus and how I should live out my faith. After attending Young Life all four years of high school I realized I had a heart for serving. I became a volunteer Young Life leader in 2018 during my Freshman year of college and after graduation, I was called to full-time ministry. I was recently married in May of 2022 and my wife Dana and I live in Manistee where I work for Young Life as the Area Director.
Who We Are
Young Life is a global organization with local focus, Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students and operates in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Young Life has 80 years of experience in entering into the world of kids, meeting them as they are and believing in who they can be. In 2018, 348,000 kids were involved every week all around the world.
Our Manistee staff and volunteers engage with kids, focusing on what matters to them — fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we believe matters most of all — the truth about God and His love for them.

Wyld Life Club - Middle School Ministry
Join us at Club where we play games, win prizes, and hear a story from one of our leaders and how Jesus has impacted them. Our Gospel presentation is designed so our middle & high school friends can easily understand. We are introducing kids to Jesus and loving them regardless of their response to Him.
Wyld Life Campaigners - Middle School Ministry
This is our more formal Bible study! Students interested in taking that next step in their faith can join us as we go through the Bible to further expand our understanding of Jesus. We typically kick off our study with a short quiz (with snack prizes) and then dive into scripture as a group.
Young Life Camp:
Each summer we’re blessed to be able to take a group of Manistee County students to camp (location may vary!). Camp is where our students can take even bigger steps of faith towards Jesus as the distractions from everyday life aren’t present. The thing that makes Young Life camp unique is that we live alongside our friends throughout the school year in Manistee, get to go to camp with them, and then come home to Manistee with them. We really want to grow with them!
Contact Work:
Students and parents may see Young Life at school events such as football games, basketball games, musicals, and more! Contact work is the heart of what we do. We go into the world of kids, get to know them, get the right to be heard in their life, and invite them to what we’re doing. There’s a saying that goes, “kids don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care,” and we take that to heart.
